Prepare for an off-road adventure of a lifetime as you cross through spectacularly beautiful wadis, ancient Omani settlements, and the port city of Khasab, before descending the Hajar Mountains into Six Senses Zighy Bay.
Emirati & Omani Nationals can currently enter through Dibba border or the Al Dara border and follow the current COVID-19 testing protocals mentioned below.
Expats with UAE residence visa can only enter through the Al Dara border near Khasab (approximately 2hr 30 mins from Dubai) where a 4x4 resort vehicle will be waiting to take you the rest of the way. Not for the faint-hearted, this spectacular six-hour journey is one that you'll never forget, and we’ll be sure to have a welcome drink (or two) waiting for you on arrival...
For entry to Oman:
• PCR test within 96 hours of arrival at the border
• Proceed to the Al Dara border
• Arrive at UAE immigration and exit the UAE
• Meet PRO who will have permit to travel through Wadi Bih
• Transfer to a resort 4X4 vehicle ready for Wadi Bih part of journey
• Arrive at the Oman Medical facility and conduct a PCR test (costs OMR 25 pp)
• Pass through Oman immigration and enter Oman
• Proceed to Atana Musandam in Khasab for a tea break and pit stop
• Drive through Wadi Bih to Six Senses Zighy Bay
• Oman requires COVID-19 insurance for all travellers
• Note: Oman car insurance is required if bringing your own car into Oman. This is available for purchase at the border.
• The UAE charges AED 30 pp exit fee
For re-entry to the UAE:
• Obtain a PCR test within 48 hours of arrival at the border at the Dibba medical facility (costs OMR 25 pp)
• Returning residents of the UAE will require a ICE approval which can be done online at no cost.
• Drive through Wadi Bih to Khasab
• Proceed to Atana Musandam in Khasab for a tea break and rest stop
• Proceed to the Al Dara border
• Arrive at the Oman immigration and exit Oman
• Arrive at the UAE Medical facility and conduct a Finger prick test (costs AED 50 pp)
• Pass through UAE immigration and enter the UAE
• Note: Two and a half hours of the transfer is over mountainous unsealed roads and is a off road four wheel drive experience.
• Drive from Khasab can only be done during daylight hours.
